Sergei Gorbushin

My name is Sergei Gorbushin, I am the developer and creator of Web Data Source.

The idea for the product came after the commercial success of my previous project — I realized that businesses need a secure solution for data collection and analysis that can be integrated directly into internal systems. A solution without transferring confidential information outside, with support for air-gapped environments where connecting to external services is prohibited.

When corporations explore new markets and develop products, even the research is sensitive information per se. Entrusting such processes to third-party services is risky, so having our own internal tool becomes a strategic advantage.

While building Web Data Source, I faced numerous challenges: how to make the system as flexible and customizable as possible, yet easy to embed into existing infrastructure. Minimum components, maximum reliability, scalable flexibility. Every mistake and every improvement turned the product into a stronger solution.

The inspiration came from the previous project implemented in a large banking system. From there, I reused several architectural insights. For example, a functional testing system called First Call Exception: during tests, the infrastructure is simulated so that all components are guaranteed to temporarily “fail.” At the same time, Web Data

Source does not distort the data, pauses operations, and self-recovers once the infrastructure is back online.

Today, Web Data Source helps data professionals save time, transform web resources into structured sources, and make decisions based on up-to-date information.

For me, this is more than just a product. It is a tool born from a real need, the result of a long journey, and many small victories.
